Each of the candidates had to pitch for 3 minutes the results of their data visualization in front of a jury composed by data visualization experts and professionals. The students' work consisted in analysing and representing data provided by UNICEF and related to relevant economic and social issues such as AIDS, education, migratory flows or even female genital mutilation.

Each of the students proposed their interpretation on the topic discussed, a visual representation of the results and suggested solutions on these key topics. All the students, from various institutions across Europe, were able to present their work in a limited amount of time. One student stood out for his precise reading and fine understanding of data, and his ability to convey the message: Qiaolong LIN. Congratulations to Qiaolong, who won, among the many prizes, an interview for a data visualization internship at UNICEF.
