EDHEC strengthens the social openness of its campuses with Empower College

EDHEC Business School and Empower College, a post-baccalaureate school set up by entrepreneur Mehdi Cornilliet, are entering into a partnership this spring that will enable young people from all social backgrounds to attend a leading business school after completing their BTS. This initiative marks a turning point in EDHEC's policy of social inclusion.

From September 2024, the Empower College, a post-baccalaureate school located in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, will offer its students a pathway to the top business schools (two years of work-linked BTS and a third year of preparation for the AST competitive entrance exams for the Grandes Ecoles). EDHEC has chosen to form a partnership with this school, which promotes equal opportunities through a special 'Ascension EDHEC' programme. The aim is to offer the school's best students, all CROUS scholarship holders and selected by a jury including EDHEC representatives, a completely free course that will eventually enable them to join the EDHEC International BBA in 3rd year. During this year, students will benefit from enhanced teaching to maximise their chances of success, mentoring from an EDHEC student or alumni and dedicated campus visits. They will then be able to apply for the EDHEC International BBA through the parallel admission procedure (ASD3 pathway). Students who are not admitted at the end of this year will be able to continue on to the classic Empower College programme.

Diversifying talent, a source of wealth

For EDHEC, the signing of this partnership marks a new perspective for its policy of social openness, which is already proactive and geared towards excellence. This policy is already reflected in the wide range of scholarships on offer, with 20% of students benefiting in total, and in various programmes such as Talents Prépa and EDHEC Talents, whose aim is always to diversify the profiles of its students and encourage their inclusion. ‘While maintaining our commitment to excellence, we want to attract more people with different backgrounds, cultures and perspectives, because we are convinced that greater diversity of talent is a source of wealth for our campuses,’ explains Emmanuel Métais, EDHEC's Managing Director.
