On 23 January 2024, at 6 p.m., Stéphanie Frappart, international football referee, will be speaking at EDHEC Business School, both in class and online, on the subject:

Deciding under influence

In the form of a round-table discussion, moderated by two students from the EDHEC Sports Association, Stéphanie Frappart will talk about her journey to reach this position in this high-level professional environment and address the issue of female refereeing. She will help us to better understand all the issues surrounding refereeing decisions and the multiple impacts they have. Want to put yourself in her shoes? Get your questions ready and join us for this highly participative (and free) conference.

Stéphanie Frappart was the first woman to referee a French and international men's football match in 2019. When she was younger, she played football for AS HERBALY and started refereeing at the age of 13. After rising through the ranks, she refereed her first L2 and L1 matches, and then the Super Cup final between Chelsea and Liverpool in 2019, after refereeing the Women's World Cup final in Lyon between the USA and the Netherlands. In 2022, she became the first woman to referee a Men's World Cup match in Qatar between Germany and Costa Rica.
